Equipment

Bowl (preferably glass or pyrex)
Saucepan that will fit the bowl on top
Mixing Bowl
Glass Beaker
Spatula/Spoon
Digital Scales that go down to 0.1g
Ice Bath
4x Aluminium mini screw top tins
Or 8x 5ml glass pots

Method

  1. Weigh the cocoa butter, coconut oil & jojoba oil into a heat safe bowl and use a double boiler to melt until liquid. While the ingredients are melting prepare an ice bath.
  2. Remove from the heat once melted, stir until slightly cooled (approximately 1 minute) and place over the ice bath stirring consistently until a light thickening is reached.
  3. Weigh the coconut lip balm flavour oil and add, then continue stirring until the mixture has thickened enough to support the sugar.
  4. Weigh the coconut sugar, add and mix well.
  5. Spoon into tins or jars and leave to thicken and cool before popping the lids on.
  6. Enjoy your scrub! 😊

Double Boiler
Half fill a saucepan with water, bring to a boil, and reduce to a gentle simmer.
Place the ingredients into a pouring pitcher, tempered glass or stainless steel jug small enough to fit inside the saucepan and best if the handle goes over the outside of the pot. Carefully place the bowl onto the simmering water.
