Decongestant Shower Steamer

Method

1. Weigh out all your ingredients.
2. Add the fractionated coconut and menthol crystals to a small beaker, place into a double boiler and heat until the crystals dissolve.
3. In a large bowl add the Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid and Tapioca Starch. Mix well with a whisk. Add you lake or mica and mix well.
4. Mix together the Polysorbate 80, Eucalyptus and Peppermint Oils.
5. Add to the bowl and keep mixing until it starts to clump.
6. Spritz with witch hazel to dampen the mix until it clumps together in your hand (similar to damp sand that holds its shape when squeezed into hand).
7. Scoop up the mix with the mould overfilling it (don’t pack it in with your hands) do this with both sides of the mould then press two halves together firmly.
8. Tap a each side of the mould with a spoon and you should be able to unmould it straight away. If you are having trouble another way is to pop it into the freezer for 20mins and warm with your hands.
9. Leave to dry for a couple of hours or overnight and place into an airtight container.
10. Once dried, measure out a little mica into a small beaker and spray with some isopropyl alcohol until it forms a paint consistency.
11. Using a pipette splash the micas onto the steamers.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN

Suggested Alternatives:

You can use our Round, 6 Cavity Soap Mould instead of bath bomb moulds and just half fill these are much easier to use, and you just press firmly into the mould.
