Method

IMPORTANT- This mixture can be very strong smelling (SCI) so ensure there is adequate ventilation in your workspace, also wear a mask when working with the powders as they can irritate your lungs.  

1. Weigh out and then dissolve the silk protein into the cocamidopropyl betaine
2. Weigh out the SCI, cetyl alcohol, castor oil and NatureMuls into the pyrex jug or stainless bowl and place into/over the saucepan (double boiler method) to melt until liquid, add in the cocomidopropyl betaine mixture
3. Weigh the sandalwood powder and pumice into a beaker, mix well and set aside 
4. Weigh the essential oil and microcare PHG into the small beaker and set aside
5. When the SCI mix has melted take off the heat and add the exfoliant mixture – stir well! Let it cool down a little, when it has cooled but is still liquid add the EO mixture and stir well. If it starts to set just pop it back onto the heat briefly.  
6. Pour into your chosen mould and leave it overnight to set. The next day pop it out of the mould and set aside to dry out for a week if you can, this will help it to last longer.  
7. To use wet the face then massage the bar in a circular motion around the face, wipe off with a warm flannel. 

Double Boiler 

Half fill a saucepan with water, bring to the boil and reduce to a gentle simmer. 

Place the ingredients into a pyrex jug or stainless-steel jug small enough to fit inside the saucepan and best if the handle goes over the outside of the pot. If using a bowl carefully place the bowl on top of the saucepan.
