Description
Cashmere Musk offers a calming scent that adds a layer of sophistication. This modern take on the classic musk blend contains top notes of bergamot and saffron that come together to create an uplifting aroma with earthy undertones. Woodland florals of lily of the valley and violets are blended with amber, while a base of dark musk and vetiver is layered with a hint of powder. This luxurious fragrance works particularly well in candles, tarts and melts, along with lotions, soaps, scrubs, and salts.
Cold Process Soap Performance
Acceleration | Discolouration | Separation | Oil Temp | Lye Water Temp |
Excessive | None | None | 45ºC | 44ºC |
We experienced excessive acceleration but no separation. The oils and lye came to a light trace easily, but as we hand-stirred a few times with the stick blender we saw that it was thickening quickly. We quickly wiped off the stick blender and set it aside then found our batter was very thick. The batter could be stirred slightly and folded in with a spatula, similar to a thin dough. We scraped the batter into the mold and pressed it down firmly to try to eliminate any air pockets. After 24 hours, we observed the soap only reached a partial gel. The area that reached a gel phase discolored to a very light tan, while the outer areas that did not gel had a purplish discoloration. The scent was quite strong. After 30 days, the color had lightened and the outer edges had a faint purple hue. The scent was pleasantly strong. We recommend choosing a single color added to the soap oils then adding this fragrance at a very light trace.
