Niacinamide is also known as Nicotinamide or Vitamin B3, Niacinamide is a well-researched ingredient that is beneficial for both acne-prone and mature skin types.
Studies have shown that at a 2% concentration, Niacinamide can reduce sebum production and at a 4% concentration will reduce inflammation and the number of acne lesions.
For mature skin types, it helps to increase the production of ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids in the skin as well as reducing transepidermal water loss. It also acts to improve the surface structure of the skin helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigments spots whilst increasing the elasticity of the skin.
