Description

Sodium Lactate is a liquid salt that is naturally derived from the fermentation of corn starch. In Cold Process soap, Sodium Lactate helps to produce a harder bar of soap that lasts longer in the shower. As a salt, it is also a natural humectant, providing moisture. This makes it a great additive to lotions, typically replacing glycerin in the recipe. This product is supplied as a 60% aqueous (in water) solution.

Add Sodium Lactate at 0.5% - 4% to the water phase or to cooled lye water when making Cold Process Soap.

This product is intended for external use only.

Used in my soap

Worked very well to harden up my cold process soap, added in with the lye water. Made the soap easy to unmould the next day, and gave it a waxier finish. I only used a small amount.

working to make my soap bars firmer and last longer

The first batch cured soon so I am looking forward to seeing how this works and if it maintains the integrity of the nature of my products
